We practice and advance environmental stewardship
We see the necessity of active environmental stewardship so that the earth continues to flourish for generations to come.
We respect our environment and recycle, reuse, and reduce our waste wherever and whenever we can.
We set high standards for our company in the area of environmental responsibility — striving for performance that does not merely comply with regulations but reduces our environmental impacts.
We seek to balance our needs with the needs of the rest of the planet through the following actions:
Nary a nail goes into the trash – we don’t throw much away- only those items that cannot be recycled or reused. We actively sort as much job site debris as possible for recycling. If we find something useful, like any “reusable” glass windows, doors, fixtures, or timber, we donate it.
In early 2006, we began an initiative to swap out our entire fleet of trucks for vehicles capable of running on cleaner, more carbon-neutral biodiesel.
We make use of recycled biofuels made from waste products, like used cooking oils, rather than virgin oils that are needed to maintain a robust food supply.
Trimming our carbon footprint has also meant incorporating hybrid gas-electric vehicles, this started back in 2003. We’ve even exchanged a number of our light trucks for hybrid cars! We’ve seen amazing results in gas mileage, and time management; plus, we contribute to cleaner air.
Over the coming years, we will continue to expand our environmental stewardship whenever and wherever we can. We are dedicated to resource and energy sustainability because we care about this planet and the buildings we rehabilitate.
